This is the account of a summer journey of over four thousand kilometres by motorbike from Nice, on the Mediterranean coast of France, to the North Cape of Norway, Europe's most northern extremity, a headland surrounded by the Arctic Ocean. Equipped with a small tent, the author camped until he had crossed the Arctic Circle, using thereafter the wooden cabins that are to be found in the north of Scandinavia. Autorenporträt
Born in 1942, the author is a retired medical doctor who has worked in the United Kingdom, France and later in Chad, Central Africa, where he worked as a volunteer doctor with Médecins Sans Frontières. He has developed a taste for travel and finds the motorbike to be the ideal means both for travel and exploration.
