Little did Samantha Edgerton know when she spent the summer with her great grandmother and fell in love with Benjamin Hoffman, her grandmother's farmhand, that a year later she'd be married to him, leaving her Englischer life behind forever, and become fully immersed in the 'plain' and 'simple' life of being a Mennonite farmer's wife. She had read stories growing up about the Amish and Mennonite people and looked forward to living their quiet, idyllic existence. But now after being married for six years with a growing family and in debt following some catastrophic events in her life, she had learned to rely on God and her close knit family to see her through. This is the first book in a new series: Women of God: Lancaster County. The series will follow Samantha Hoffman and her friends and their families.

Autorenporträt
Although Deanna Stalnaker's writing career didn't begin until she retired from nursing in 2013, she always had dreams of being an author. Immediately following that cold November day when she left her "real" job, she started giving away her uniforms and invested in a good computer and printer. Now two years later, she has written and published ten books and is working on more. The first series of books she wrote was her "Women of God" novels. Then came a devotional book and children's book. All of her books are based on her love of God and the Bible and what it teaches to live a better life. In her novels there is also an echo of her former life as a nurse, as many of her protagonists, their friends, or their families often have some type of medical emergency in their lives. Deanna is currently living in North Carolina with her husband and one of their two daughters, who also is a writer.
