In the new era of labour market globalisation, professionals are required to adopt a stance that is compatible with the changes and needs of this new era. Nurses, among health professionals, are the professionals legally competent to exercise management in health services. To do this, they need to mobilise proactively, articulate, have scientific knowledge, skills in any situation and attitudes, whether predictable or not. The aim of this study was to present the specific nature of the nurse's managerial work in UBS with ESF by analysing scientific production on the subject over the last ten years. Publications were analysed from 2003 to 2013. The results show that the biggest challenge today for nurses to exercise management is the minimum preparation in the training process for these professionals to take on this role. Therefore, in order to develop administrative competence and management, the set of knowledge identified for planning, making decisions, interacting and managingpeople is considered indispensable.
