The storm raged on throughout the night. Nora could not sleep but dozed on and off during the bleak hours. At times there were loud creaks and groans followed by a bang severe enough to shake the house as the ice proved too heavy for some tree branches and they fell to the ground. Nora prayed that they were missing her house and the buildings where the lavender and farm equipment were stored. After a devastating personal tragedy, Nora reconciles herself to a life alone with her dogs and focuses on making a success of the beautiful lavender farm she has been putting her heart and soul into for years. But when she discovers two strangers have been living rough in her fields, Nora has to take a look at the larger world again... and what she sees is chilling. As Nora slowly begins to open her heart anew, she faces an unexpected setback so severe that it threatens to ruin the farm where she finds her solace. But now that she's become open to a new kind of life, she finds fresh perspectives that will not only serve her farm but do a tremendous amount of good for others as well. With beautiful settings, appealing characters, and a heart-lifting, positive perspective, The Oasis highlights the power of friendship and caring for others while illustrating the beautiful truth that gifts will always come to the giver.
