Autorenporträt
Elizabeth R. McCarthy began writing poetry in March of 2020 when the world closed down due to the COVID Pandemic. Her poem "Winter Voices" was selected by the Poetry Society of Vermont as winner of the 2020 Summer Contest MARIAN GLEASON MEMORIAL AWARD and will be published in The Mountain Troubadour in 2021. She recently received one of two Highly Commended awards for her poem "How do we not see" by the Huntly Writers - Brian Nisbet poetry competition. Elizabeth retired from teaching in 2018 leaving her time to wander on foot and in poetry, exploring the rural landscape in northern Vermont.
