Have you ever picked up a Bible and wondered where in the world you should start reading? The gospels are a good place to start, but which one should you choose? Matthew, Mark, Luke or John? You might not know this, but while Luke writes about Mary and the angel, and the shepherds in the fields, only Matthew mentions the wise men with their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Luke recounts the story of Zacchaeus and the parable of the prodigal son, but if you don't read John, you'll miss Nicodemus and the wonder of John 3:16. This book contains all four gospels, written into one chronological account of the life and mission of Jesus. If you want to know why Jesus made the Pharisees so mad, and why it was so shocking that he would touch a leper and eat with a tax collector, this book is for you. Prepare to meet the King of kings, and witness the greatest sacrifice the world has ever known.
Autorenporträt
Carlee Yardley grew up in an evangelical Christian home. Her mum and dad, Daryl and Robyn Redford, led Young Life in Melbourne in the 70's, 80's and early 90's and Carlee saw hundreds of teenagers give their lives to Jesus over those years. It wasn't until much later that Carlee realised that God has no grandchildren. It didn't matter how good her parents were at loving and discipling people, she knew she had to carve out her identity in Christ on her own. Carlee stripped back everything she knew about God and everything she knew about the church and started all over again from the gospels. In the process, this book was born. Carlee's desire is that Christians everywhere will truly meet Jesus. Not the halo'ed Jesus the world portays, but the real Jesus of the Bible. The one full of love and forgiveness, who is tough on religious hypocrites and gracious enough to leave his throne to seek and save the lost. Carlee is a primary school teacher and lives with her husband and four children near the sea in Coffs Harbour. She is happiest when she is surfing or skating with her family, or watching her two dogs wrestle.
