One would have to search far and wide to hold in your hand such a fine handbook as that written by young Sarah Thomson. Although the workbook is a result of her experiences at the different levels of the American Legion National High School Oratory Contest, it is a handbook of importance for all students interested in performing well in any competition. Sarah's writing style is reader-friendly in that she does not preach to her readers but brings them along on her voyage through the sometimes smooth and sometimes billowing waves of competition. I highly recommend this workbook for any student who is asked to speak before an audience, who is asked to prepare and deliver a speech before a panel of judges, or who might want to lead a group discussion. Her Biblical references support and augment her honest discussion of the steps to winning oratory. If one were to enter a speaking competition or a writing competition, one would do well to read this handbook. ¿
