Autorenporträt
Hi. If you're reading this, know I have a glass of whiskey sitting in front of me half drained. Single malt, Scotch. Occasionally I'll take it on the rocks, but neat is perfectly fine. I can wait a moment for you to grab your drink... (5 minutes later) All set? It's a pleasure to meet you, well, virtually meet you. My name is Blake Harper. That's it, that's all I got... ...Kidding. Humor sometimes gets away from me. It got me in trouble on more than one occasion in the Army, in school, everywhere really. What's life without a little humor?: D I believe everyone has a creative side to them and humor may very well be part of creativity. How are you creative? Think about it. A diverse mind unlocks more possibilities. Writing... now that's something to dive into. I certainly have. Words are powerful and so are stories. Stories help shape the world and although I'm still developing my craft when it comes to the art of writing, it's been one great adventure so far. My serious devotion to it started after I transitioned out of the Army after seven years of service. After completing my master's at USC (Fight On!), I finally figured out what I wanted to do with my life. You guessed it... live off Ramen noodles and write while sitting in my blue bean bag chair. Serious goals right there: D What can I say? I'm happy. I jest, but in all seriousness, I can't thank you enough for taking the time to get to know me, even a little bit. Many of the stories I write have specific characteristics about them. These include: some sense of adventure (Duh! The book has to be entertaining), history, philosophy, and understanding the human condition. These last three aspects some may not find compelling, but me likey. I hope that when people read my stories they uncover a little something about themselves in a positive manner. I believe one should never stop growing. Like I said, it's a hope. It's a pleasure to virtually meet you. Perhaps one day we actually will. In the meantime, enjoy a glass of whiskey for me. If whiskey isn't your choice, then we need to adjust that;) If you do decide to read any of my works, I'd like to know how you did AND didn't enjoy it. Never stop growing. Cheers everyone! Until my next ramble in the future.
