The Other Side of Camille is based on actual events in the life of a young single mom trying to escape the grips of a family legacy deep-rooted in dark religious beliefs, witchcraft, and satanism. Camille is characterized in the fight for her soul and that of her child against the forces of good and evil. In an escape to be free from the family legacy, she relocates the immediate family to a city and the church of Jesus Christ. Believing she is free, Camille takes on the dangerous task of attempting exorcisms that she was not equipped or qualified to explore, especially when you have not gone through complete healing and deliverance yourself, not fully addressing own possible trauma and mental illness; living in denial. The writer of the story witnessed at the time a series of strange, unexplained occurrences with not only Camille but a terrified child who appear to be under some type of spell with very little power to function independently. The writer is led to believe the story is a classic case found in Matthew 12:43-45, "When an unclean spirit leaves a person, it wanders through arid regions seeking rest without finding it. Then it says, 'I will return to my house from which I came. And when it comes it finds the house swept clean and tidy. Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more wicked than itself. And the last state of that person is worse than the first.'"
