Creative outlets are widely used in psychological treatments. Carl Jung, in his writings on psychotherapy, promoted the idea of therapists being able to get into the therapeutic 'soup' with their patients, and to be changed themselves by it. In this volume of poetry, the author brings the unconscious into view and reflects on the meaning of ordinary experiences in the world we now inhabit. She takes her examples both from nature and from human experience. The collective unconscious of both the United Kingdom and the United States of America is the subject matter of these very accessible poems.
