In the second half of the 30s of the 20th century, the international situation deteriorated significantly. Based on the deepening of the general crisis of capitalism and the economic crisis of 1937, the unevenness of the development of capitalist states increased, their struggle for markets, spheres of influence and redistribution of the world intensified. The crisis did not affect only Japan and Germany, which had rebuilt their economies in the military way. The rise of industry in these countries was connected with the preparation for war. The ruling circles of the USA, England and France helped fascist Germany to arm themselves and directed its aggressive aspirations against the USSR. Using the support of international imperialism, fascist Germany began to implement its aggressive plans in Europe. In 1938-1939, it forcibly annexed Austria and Czechoslovakia. The policy of acquiescence of aggression on the part of the governments of the USA, England and France led to the expansion of aggressive actions of Germany, Italy and Japan. World War II began on September 1, 1939 with Germany's attack on Poland.
