Autorenporträt
Maggie Lykens was born in rural upstate New York. She has always enjoyed the contrast of the changing seasons, wonderful open farmlands, rolling hills, lakes, quaint villages, lovely falls and other virtues this part of the country provides. This is her third children's book written in poetic format, and she takes great delight in this style of storytelling. Maggie loves to base her stories on the memories she has cherished of her childhood, as well as bring a realism to her characters, using her children, other family members, or friends into the context of each story told. Within this scope, she has many tales to bring to life within the wonderful pages of books. Maggie hopes they bring joy, laughter and a simple smile to a child's face, and an appreciation for poetry, which has enriched her own life.
