Journal of the Association of Anglican Musicians This volume is a collection of 37 of the best pieces for use at carol services, Christmas services, and Christmas concerts. Autorenporträt
On retirement from a teaching career as Director of Music at Radley College, Oxfordshire and Glenalmond College, Perthshire, Robert Gower worked as Organist at St Barnabas Catholic Cathedral, Nottingham, before moving in 2019 to become Director of Music at Berwick-upon-Tweed parish church. His commitment to English twentieth-century repertoire is reflected through his founding and leadership of the Percy Whitlock Trust until its copyright income ceased and in hisongoing Chairmanship of the Gerald Finzi Charitable Trust. He specialises in transcribing music for organ and in liturgical composition.
Rezensionen
This volume of thirty-seven pieces is a major new resource ... Most organists will already own some of the commonly used pieces, but it is practical to have them all in one volume. And there are more than enough unusual choices to make the book worth having. Kudos to both compiler and publisher for the best organ anthology (in both quality of selections and production) I have seen in quite some time. Journal of the Association of Anglican Musicians
