Sakae Shioya, the translator, was the author of When I Was a Boy in Japan (1906).

Rohan K¿da was the pen name of K¿da Shigeyuki (1867-1947), a Japanese author in the Meiji period. Sakae Shioya (1873-1961) was the author of When I Was a Boy in Japan (Boston, 1906).
