Its analysis provides insights into the problems of identity facing Jews in the pre-Nazi period, and adds a further texture to the ongoing debate on the causes of twentieth century barbarism.
Autorenporträt
The Author: John Theobald was born in London in 1946, and studied at the Universities of Southampton and Vienna, gaining his doctorate in 1975. He has been Associate Professor in Modern Languages at Southampton Institute since 1995, following a period as Principal Lecturer in German at DeMontfort University, Leicester. Publications include book contributions and articles on Karl Kraus, and on media discourse, stereotyping and national identity.
