The author Sean Gilligan grew up in the Ottawa area of Ontario, Canada. Having served for 12 years in the Canadian Armed Forces as an infantry soldier, he acquired many specialized skills including mechanized warfare, military parachuting and an array of light and heavy weapons. This is the author's second published novel, the second of a series, the first being RAISING HELL: A DROP INTO HADES (iUniverse). This is a fictional Action/adventure tale of the present day war on terrorism, partly based on the author's personal military and civilian experiences in this new conflict. Part of these experiences involved being injured/wounded and the recovery/rehab process. A prominent activity over three decades is parachuting, military and civilian skydiving. Having survived several near-death experiences, the author has insight into those facing danger in harm's way overseas or at home. Also a trained sniper, the author delves into the world of snipers used to great effect by both sides in the War on Terror.
