With pen in hand, this action guide will help you craft the next step on your journey. An electrical engineer, Marva Goldsmith's diverse experience spans more than 30 years in positions that include systems engineer, federal lobbyist, human resource strategist and call center director. At the age of 42, she "re-imagined" her career and left the Fortune 500 utility company where she had worked since the age of 17 to design a professional life that aligned with her passion and strengths. After obtaining a Master's degree from Harvard Kennedy School, she studied image and brand management and later received a Leadership Coaching Certificate from Georgetown University. Since 2001, Marva has developed and implemented image and brand management, and leadership development training and retreats, and conducted organizational effectiveness coaching and consulting, including strategic planning and process improvement initiatives. Marva is also a designated career coach for the Michigan State University Alumni Association and helps others re-cast their professional brand, specializing in career and entrepreneurial "re-inventions." Marva has written several action guides including, Re-branding Yourself After Age 50 -- strategies to help Baby Boomers compete in today's career and business marketplace, Branding You, Inc., a self-help guide that outlines essential steps to personal branding, and the Hood Book, a self-esteem action guide for incarcerated and at-risk populations.
