The study was conducted to comparatively analyze the performance of Deposit Money Bank, Nigerian Agricultural Cooperative and Rural Development Bank and Micro Finance Bank in enhancing agricultural development in Benue State Nigeria. Multistage sampling involving purposive and simple random sampling was adopted. Primary data were collected through the use of structured questionnaires administered on 180 loan beneficiaries from banks in the selected communities. The data were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. Comparatively, the deposit money bank was most successful in terms of savings mobilization (N11,828,000,000). The NACRDB was next with N3,471,000,000 and the Micro Finance Bank- N429,000,000. with respect to funding rural agriculture, Deposit Money Bank was the highest (54.24%)followed by NACRDB (45.18%) and the least was Micro Finance Bank (0.58%). on the levels of sustainability achieved, the result showed only Deposit money Bank never depended on any subsidy. The study recommended that the rural banking institutions should embark on aggressive mobilization of savings and recovering of their loans to enable them become self sustainable.
