Competency-Based Education is becoming more acceptable and attributable to student individual empowerment. Consequently, most countries of the world have purposed to go competency-based by introducing Competency-Based Education. Therefore, Educator motivation is central in the process of achieving CBC. That is why the purpose of this book is to make an attempt at defining, reconstructing, and suggesting enhancement processes of educator motivation during the Covid-19 pandemic and beyond. The research attempts to define educator motivation by exploring variables of alienation of educators, technological approach (ICT), intrinsic and extrinsic motivation/needs, drives, institutional engagements, and requisite incentivization of educators.

Dr. Paul Alela Oguta is a self-motivated educator who started teaching with diploma in Music and Kiswahili of Kagumo TTC in 1992. He taught music and Kiswahili in high school for many years and currently is the Organizing Secretary, Nyanza Regional Music Festival, and lectures Planning and Economics at University Level.
