Friday afternoon finally arrives, and Helen suggests to Irving, "Hey, handsome, the rehab center will be closed this weekend. Why don't we take a spin down to the old grove? It would be good for us to spend some quiet time in prayer at the lone picnic table." "Sure, sweetheart, I like that idea. Thank God we're off every other Friday! I know our time in prayer will refresh and renew us." "Hallelujah! It's a beautiful spring day, what a glorious time to be with God in prayer." "I couldn't agree more, sweetheart. That's where we got married almost a year ago. A most beautiful wedding and I might add what a lovely bride." "Thanks for those sweet words, Irv. Say, after our prayer time, let's stroll over to where I used to work, the Cedar Creek Clinic, and visit my old friends?" The early pioneers had settled in Cedar Creek around 1884 and built a country church. In 2012 the church was converted into the clinic that Helen worked at as office manager. The local historian affirmed the early settlers brought the old relic picnic table with them from New England. During Cedar Creeks' 100-year celebration in 1984, the historical society commemorated the table with a placard. "Let's do it!" shouts Irving. Irving was the star athlete in college, but his budding football career came to an end when he busted his knee. Helen, the former office manager at the clinic, was known as a holy-roller. She always talked about Jesus and conducted a Bible study for the ladies after work. Helen and Irving had the most beautiful wedding at the grove last summer. Helen and Irv arrive early Friday afternoon. The sun's rays are glittering down on the grassy dew, and with the surrounding majestic tall trees, the grove looks and feels like a cathedral.
Autorenporträt
I became acutely aware in 2017 of the many emotional difficulties people have in their life. Difficulties usually stemming from depression, leading up to a constant affliction. These afflictions appear as a cover-up masking the underlying pain. Afflictions come in many different flavors, alcohol, smoking, drugs, sexual conquests, and many more. But when they grip hold of a person, it is impossible to eradicate oneself from that bondage. In my prayer time, I sought guidance as to how I could even remotely help those with afflictions. Through the stories and characters of the Cedar Creek County Series, you'll read how these ordinary people find Jesus, and by His power through them, overcome their bondage to addiction. These stories are for anyone who doesn't believe that Jesus is real. For anyone who doesn't believe the gift of healing by the power of Jesus is authentic. May the events and characters speak to you as they unfold throughout the stories So, you know, overcoming addictions by the power of Jesus Christ is real. I know so. I am living proof....Brandon J Rosenberg
