Autorenporträt
Toria has been writing since she was a child, starting out with poetry and short stories. She went to Arizona State University to study Creative Writing in English as well as Yavapai College in Northern Arizona. She wrote this book to explore what life and love might look like, through the eyes of a little dog. From the time she was a child, she had always felt a deep connection to animals. Even at a young age, she was never fond of caging wild or domestic animals for the sole purpose of entertaining humans, and especially the treatment of animals in the circus. It is no surprise that as an adult, she would write a book about a little dog who escapes the circus to find a loving home. We can learn so much from dogs: how to love unconditionally, how to forgive genuinely, and how to explore the world with deep curiosity and a fearlessness. It was important for me to tell a tale that reflects the beautiful mysteries in life and most mysterious of all, the power of love: that it knows no boundaries, it heals the deepest wounds, and it comes in all colors. She lives in Arizona with her husband and three dogs where she spends most of her time submerged in nature and doing what she loves most: writing.
