Cindy Frenkel was a writer-in-residence with InsideOut Literary Arts Project, which brings working poets into Detroit public schools. A columnist for The New York Observer, later she was the writer/editor of The Detroit Institute of Arts magazine (DIA) and co-authored 100 Essential Books for Jewish Readers with Rabbi Daniel B.
