Dorothy R. Kennedy is to writing as Grandma Moses was to painting. At the age of 92, she unveils a novel that has been brewing inside her for years. Based in the idyllic setting of her childhood home in northeastern Alabama, the one-time English professor puts her education and training to good use to guide us through the travails of a wife and mother that was left widowed by the second World War, and the loves and exploits that followed her life after that tragic event, only to end up where her story begins. Dot, as she is known locally, continues to be active in the community and church, and with no plans to slow down, is in the midst of a budding career as an author of novels, poetry and a family genealogical history. What the locals of Guntersville, Alabama have enjoyed for years is now finally available to us all.
