Molla Panah Vagif -was an 18th-century Azerbaijani poet, the founder of the realism genre in the Azerbaijani poetry and also a prominent statesman and diplomat, vizier - the minister of foreign affairs in the Karabakh khanate. Vagif's works herald a new era in Azeri poetry. This was the main characteristic that distinguished Vagif from his predecessors and made him the founder of the realism genre in Azeri poetry.

Autor

Prof. Mahira Guliyeva graduated from the Faculty of Oriental Studies of BSU in 1972 in a degree of Arabic philology. She has been working at ANAS since 1973. She is currently the head of the Department of Early New Period Azerbaijani Literature. She is the author of 22 monographs and hundreds of scientific articles.
