This book is an exploration of the poetry of Darwish and the three developmental phases that underwent his poetry. These phases include: the poetry of resistance, the poetry of loss of and nostalgia for a homeland, and eventually the poetry of timely death contemplation. The discussion will show the divergences in Darwish s early poetry that thoroughly presents the saga of the Palestinian people and his late poetry collections, namely after 1998, that reveals the poet s solipsism and soliloquy towards his 'timely' death.
