Mats Berdal is Professor of Security and Development and Director of the Conflict, Security and Development Research Programme (CSDRG) in the Department of War Studies at King's College London. Jake Sherman is Minister Counsellor for UN Management and Reform at the United States Mission to the United Nations and formerly Director for Programmes and Director of the Brian Urquhart Centre for Peace Operations at the International Peace Institute (IPI).
