The independent variables in that article were adapted to fit the theory
used in this book. Special thanks go to Cathy M. Johnson for her
contribution to the original article. Her insights deserve credit for the
findings here; I retain the blame for the changes I have made. In the
update several relationships changed; that should be a lesson to those who
