At least it had seemed a short distance for the last five hours, but the green trees now appeared to be just as far away as when the party had first sighted them early in the morning.

He is known for his famous Battleship Boy series and his Pony Rider Boys series, which have many readers today as well. Patchin has published more than 200 adventure books. Most of them were published under the pen names of Victor Durham and Jessie Graham Flower. He has also written for the Edward Stratemeyer Syndicate.
