Our brief addresses the consequences of the construction of the Kribi Industrial Port Complex, located near the cultural landscape of the Chutes de la Lobé. This landscape was nominated for inclusion on the World Heritage List in 2011, because it contains natural and cultural elements that interact with each other in an almost symbiotic way, since here nature is not just a physical element, but a more dynamic entity that influences different aspects of community life through their traditions and culture, which is the source of their identity. The site is also home to rare and protected species of wildlife, such as sea turtles. These different components motivated the Cameroon Ministry of Culture to place the site on UNESCO's tentative list in 2006.
