His friend Kelvin stabs the guard with his pocket knife but he was too late as the guard had already called the cops. The two boys are arrested and put into a cell for a night. In this night Mat wakes up and sees a jug of water and a bit of food but as the doctor injected something into his body he´s not able to reach it but somehow is able to break the jug by just looking at it. Matt is the given the choice of going into jail or to take part in the LEAF project. He decides to take part in this proect which means being fostered by a womana called ms Deverill. Mat starts to live hiself in but during a night when he is a lone at the farm he looks around and finds a piece of paper with words on them talking about him and saying that he has special powers. During this night he hears whispers and goes outside to whats going on. Then he meets a farmer who gives him a special necklessand the farme, mr burges and him decide to meet up so that the farmer can tell him more but when Mat goes to find the farmer he finds him dead on the floor. In the last seconds of his life he was able to write the words Raven´s gate on the wall. Matt trys to find out what Raven´s Gate is and runs into a proffesore who tells him all about Raven´s gate. The profesor is killed. Mat comes close to the end of his life when he comes face to face withold ones. These are mysterious people and want to kill Mat becauese of his special powers.

I really really enjoyed this book as it is written in a very special way. This is the first of a series and if this is what the first book is like then the other 4 will be really really enjoyable. The author wrote this book in a way so that you aren´t able to put it down.
I recommand this book to fans of the Alex Ridder series and to fans of the autor. Tis book can be read by peopel any ages.
