Paola Hasbun was born on January 22, 1992 in Galveston, Texas. Her family lived there until she was in pre-school and then they moved to New Haven, Connecticut. Her family stayed there until she finished first grade. They finally stayed put in New Orleans for eight years until Hurricane Katrina hit. After living in Lafayette, Louisiana for a year, after the storm, they moved back to New Orleans to encounter another type of storm. On February 15, 2008, Paola was diagnosed with a brain tumor only a month after her sixteenth birthday. After a year of intensive and draining cancer treatment, Paola was miraculously healed of cancer, thank God. Five years later, she has finished her third year of pre-medicine and is transferring to the University of Houston to receive her bachelors in Biology. She plans on taking the MCATS and going to the University of Texas to become a Pediatric Oncologists, all with God's help. She currently volunteers at M.D. Anderson in multiple hospital care positions and is ecstatic about being able to help others go through what she did during her cancer treatment. In the journey of volunteering, Paola has met the former President of the United States, George Bush, Laura and Jenna Bush, the renowned American journalist and author, Cokie Roberts who is a contributing senior news analyst for the HYPERLINK "http: //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Public_Radio" o "National Public Radio" National Public Radio as well as a political commentator for HYPERLINK "http: //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ABC_News" o "ABC News" ABC News, serving as an on-air analyst for the network, as well as Latin Grammy singers, Jon Secada, Gian Marco, and Noel Schajris. She has also been chosen to speak at public events at her treatment hospital, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Knowing that all her achievements and future achievements are accomplished with God's help alone, she has decided to donate ten percent of all the profit of this novel to Core Luv International (R), an organization founded by her previous Youth Pastor, which helps build orphanages in Haiti and take care of hundreds of orphans.
