JENS J. A. WORSAAE (1821-1885) was a pioneering Danish archaeologist. As the second director of the National Museum of Denmark, he was an early contributor to the field of paleobotany and also used stratigraphy to validate Thomsen's three-age system of stone, bronze, and iron for organizing antiquities.
