Pascale Lehoux brings a fresh perspective on the use and dissemination of health technology by examining what technology does and what humans expect out of it. Drawing on two established interdisciplinary fields - Health Technology and Assessment (HTA) and Science and Technology Studies (STS), Lehoux develops an alternative framework to think about the implications of health technology. This timely and significant text will appeal to scholars and researchers of health studies and medical sociology.
