Autorenporträt
Born and raised in a small town in northern British Columbia, Karlissa grew up feeling it'd be hard to ever call one place home. While young, she travelled with her family across Canada, across the northern United States, to the Dominican Republic, and to a village in the mountains of Guatemala-and later to Africa and England. With a family who enjoyed exploration and a father with a passion for global history and geography, Karlissa came to love discovering diverse cultures and places, though her primary passion would always be the diversity of animal life. As a young adult, Karlissa continued the travel lifestyle on her own, taking a school trip to Europe, then completing a YWAM discipleship training school (DTS) in Belize and the Philippines, attending communications school in Switzerland, and graphic design school in England. She finally found a reason to call British Columbia home when she decided to date her best friend, Jason. Now married, the two live in Fort Saint John, a city not far from where both grew up. Her favourite pastimes include writing, drawing, researching, learning about animals, and watching superhero shows with her husband. Her favourite creatures are bats, but she also loves little-known animals and the diversity of aquatic life. She is currently busily researching the fish species from her area. Though she can't say whether travelling will be part of her future, she's glad for the opportunities God has given her and she looks forward to whatever adventures He has in store for her and Jason.
