Harley A. Haynes, MD, is Professor of Dermatology, Harvard Medical School, and a member of the Department of Dermatology at Massachusetts General Brigham Hospital and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Haynes has received numerous awards for his outstanding leadership, among them the Daniel D. Federman Outstanding Clinical Educator Award in 2000. The Dermatology Foundation recognized him with their Lifetime Career Educator Award in 2004. Extensively published, Dr. Haynes also influenced the training of dermatology residents through his bedside teaching and many contributions to national educational committees and his significant number of teaching materials. Dr. Haynes was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2013. Richard M. Miles has written for numerous publications including The Birmingham Post-Herald, Newsweek Magazine, and The Atlanta Constitution. After a career at Bell System, he founded Acumen Strategic Communications, Inc. Miles has received numerous awards for his writing and journalistic design work, including two Apex Awards for Publications Excellence, Golden and Silver Flame Awards, and a Gold Mercury International Award, among others. Miles lives in Hilton Head Island, SC. Mr. Miles was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2002.
