The volume is not concerned with the (pretended) world effects of the Reformation. The essays turn this traditional Eurocentric approach into a global transconfessional and transreligious perspective. The aim is to evaluate whether or not Catholicism, Orthodox Christianity, Judaism, Islam and Hinduism had movements similar or equivalent to the Protestant Reformation in Latin (Western) European Civilization.
