Findings revealed presence of disease in females as young as under 5 years old and as old as 55 years old. Most patients(60.35%) were single, The study highlights the relevance of social,psychological and cultural factors in prevention treatment and care of persons infected with sexually transmitted infections. Patients perception of disease . Secrecy, sexual exposure even with disease, extended family system(especially for the under 5 years) and Polygyny were identified as factors in the spread and the associated difficulty in the control of sexually transmitted disease in the Nigerian Society.
