The Book aims to explore the psychological impact of watching violent films among female college students in Hassan District, Karnataka, India. With the proliferation of media content, particularly violent films, there is growing concern about their potential effects on viewers, particularly vulnerable populations such as young women. This research aims to understand how exposure to such films affects psychological well-being, including aspects like anxiety, aggression, desensitization, and overall emotional health. The findings indicate that frequent exposure to violent films correlates with increased levels of anxiety and aggression among participants. Notably, a significant number of students reported feeling desensitized to violence and exhibited a heightened tendency towards aggressive thoughts and behaviors. Qualitative data further revealed that while some students perceived violent films as a form of entertainment or stress relief, others experienced negative emotional impacts, including increased fearfulness and difficulty in distinguishing between on-screen violence and real-life scenarios.
