Hi, I'm Konner Harcourt Kienzle. Thanks for checking out my new book. I got the idea for "The Purple Pumpkin" from my father when I was very small. Every October, the family would head to the local pumpkin patch in a quest to find the perfect pumpkin. On one trip my dad asked, "Would the pumpkin still be perfect if it was purple?" Well, that thought stuck with me. When I turned 15 I decided to create a story addressing the question and by 16 had written this book. Now, after several revisions and a search for the right illustrator, the book is complete. "The Purple Pumpkin" is the first in a 26-volume series I call "The ABCs of Life." Each book is based on a different letter of the alphabet and deals with issues we all face growing up-- "The Angry Ant," "The Bullying Bullfrog"-- you get the picture. The reader learns valuable lessons not only about life but also about grammar, spelling and phonics. I hope you enjoy "The Purple Pumpkin," and please check back for the next volume.
