This experience led him to a lifelong commitment to ministry, eventually joining the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) denomination. Despite lacking formal theological training, Tozer's deep dedication to Scripture became a hallmark of his faith and work.Tozer served as a pastor for over 40 years, primarily within the C&MA, where he gained a reputation for his fervent preaching and call to spiritual depth. He notably pastored Southside Alliance Church in Chicago, focusing on helping believers pursue a sincere, experiential relationship with God. His best-known book, The Pursuit of God, reflects his belief in seeking God wholeheartedly and critiques the complacency he perceived in modern Christianity.In addition to pastoring, Tozer was a prolific writer, contributing to Alliance Weekly and authoring numerous influential books that continue to shape Christian thought.
