CHRISTINE M. BLACK, a political reporter wh the Boston Globe for over 25 years, has covered five presidential and dozens of state and local campaigns over the course of two decades. She coauthored, with Thomas Oliphant, All By Myself: The Unmaking of a Presidential Campaign, published in 1989, which provided an in-depth analysis of the Dukakis campaign. Previously, Ms. Black was Washington correspondent for the Boston Herald American and the Lowell Sun.
