Eric Hughes grew up in Berkeley, a San Francisco suburb, in the 1960s. Although his parents provided a comfortable middle-class existence, it was precisely that, an existence. It lacked the loving family dynamic he saw in his friends and neighbors' homes. He longed for that happy, idealized sitcom family he watched on television. When dysfunction and temptation prevailed, Eric took solace in baseball, but without the loving support of his family. As a young adult, Eric relentlessly pursued a better life and achieved some financial success, but his temptations and dysfunction nearly took his life. What could only be touted as divine intervention, Eric's life would take a profound turn. He found peace within his spiritual faith and a newfound love of God. However, he soon realized that true happiness didn't come from a materialistic life but from the family dynamic he craved as a child.

Autorenporträt
Eric, hailing from Berkeley, CA, has always been driven to excel, refusing to settle for mediocrity from a young age. His perfectionist mindset fueled his determination to achieve excellence in any task or goal he set his sights on. At just 9 years old, he embarked on a journey to play major league baseball, a dream he pursued relentlessly. However, life took a turn, leading him to the Real Estate industry in 1981. He secured a position in the collection department of a renowned Mortgage Banking Company affiliated with a well-known builder. Over the next 13 years, he climbed the ranks, obtaining his Real Estate Brokers license and eventually becoming the Vice President of Secondary Marketing, overseeing a 50-million-dollar warehouse line. In 1994, he joined Kaiser Permanente, where he excelled in SAS and SQL programming, data analytics, and data warehousing. Currently, he serves as an IT consultant on the Cyber Security team. ? In addition to his full-time role at Kaiser, Eric holds Real Estate Brokers licenses in California, Nevada and North Carolina, where his company, Hughes Realty, operates. >Over the past two years, I've eagerly anticipated the opportunity to share my story with the world. Writing this book has been an incredibly therapeutic experience for me. Maintaining honesty throughout this journey holds immense significance to me. The experiences from my youth, the strength of my friendships, my marriage, and my relationship with God have all played pivotal roles in shaping me into a better man. ? My goal is to raise awareness about the importance of healthy family dynamics and fostering an atmosphere that values education intensely. Dedication to one's pursuits, whatever they may be, is a strong and worthy objective. I aim to illustrate that the rewards can be substantial and deeply fulfilling. During my leisure time, I find joy in entertaining, traveling, swimming, working out, and sharing moments watching basketball and football games on TV with my wife and son, Eric Jr.
