L'auteur est diplômé de l'Institut de physique et de technologie de Moscou et toute sa carrière scientifique est centrée sur la physique expérimentale. D'abord dans le domaine de la résonance magnétique, puis dans celui de la détection des particules de haute énergie, il tente de développer une approche unique de l'avenir de la physique fondamentale du point de vue de l'expérimentateur.
