Winner of 2022 FIREBIRD BOOK AWARDS: 1st Place for both MYSTERY AND HUMOR categories Dr. Jason Longfellow, Private Eye and amateur sleuth, and wife Chelsea travel to the Sunshine State to buy a vacation home. While touring beautiful resort communities near the beach, they encounter some very aggressive realtors. Why are the realtors so angry? Is Jason really that annoying? Then their search turns deadly and the bodies start piling up. Jason and Chelsea take a break from the stress of house hunting by trying the many recreational opportunities that Florida has to offer; boating, fishing, a Harley rental, kiteboarding, and off-roading. Maybe Florida really is trying to kill Jason. Throw in a hurricane, boat chase, alligators galore, and a very friendly manatee, and you have a non-stop action murder mystery. Jason has been at the scene of so many dead realtors, he's beginning to believe that he's actually the prime suspect; Chelsea's having similar thoughts. Has Jason found the killer? Or, has Chelsea solved the case? What, if anything, does this have to do with killer mosquitoes? It's medical biotechnology run amok. Florida will never be the same! About the Author Dr. John J Jessop spent 40 years as a pharmacologist working for the medical biotech and pharmaceutical industries (both FDA and the industry side). In retirement, he has chosen to redirect his knowledge and experience towards the writing of the perfect murder mystery. He is currently working on two mystery series, a medical comedy murder mystery series, which he calls Biotech Murder Mysteries (PLEASURIA: TAKE AS DIRECTED, MURDER BY ROAD TRIP and now THE REALTOR'S CURSE), and a dark murder mystery series (The GUARDIAN ANGEL series). The biotech murder mystery series examines the humorous side of what can go wrong when scientists play around with our DNA, immune system and cells to create medicines. This series includes Dr. Jason Longfellow, PI, a bored FDA reviewer who, much to his wife's dismay, gets his private eye license and works as an amateur sleuth on weekends. Two books in the dark murder mystery series (The GUARDIAN ANGEL series) involve the evilest of villains, a serial killer and an elusive cult leader who kidnaps young women and loves snakes, and his mother. John J Jessop and his wife live in St. Augustine, Florida. His favorite things are writing, walks on the beach, driving his Subaru WRX, boating, fishing, taking naps, and visiting with his two loving daughters. His favorite authors are Robert B. Parker and J.A. Jance. His youngest daughter uses her degree in Media Arts and Design and minor in English to help with editing and to design his book covers. She also co-wrote Murder by Road Trip with him, based on a 30-day cross country road trip they took together in July of 2016.

Autorenporträt
Dr. John J Jessop, a Ph.D. pharmacologist, spent nearly 40 years working for the FDA and pharmaceutical industry. He retired to write murder mysteries. He started with two dark murder mysteries, the Guardian Angel series. After spending two years with such evil villains, he decided to take a different route and wrote a comedy murder mystery, PLEASURIA: TAKE AS DIRECTED, published in 2018. MURDER BY ROAD TRIP is his second comedy murder mystery staged in the medical biotech and pharmaceutical industry. John J Jessop co-wrote MURDER BY ROAD TRIP with his daughter, Jackie. The story was inspired by a once-in-a-lifetime cross-country road trip they took together in 2016. While the destinations may be real, all events in MURDER BY ROAD TRIP are hilariously fictitious. These comedy murder mysteries explore the potentially humorous side of medical biotech; what could happen when scientists play with your DNA, immune system and cells?
