Shelonda Richardson. Intelligent, vivacious, and diligent are amongst the words that captures the essence of Shelonda Richardson. She has always been taught to dream and think big! Since childhood, she has been driven by faith, excellence, compassion and integrity. Shelonda is a 2007 graduate of Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN. Her civic and organizational involvement includes volunteering at a multitude of places and conducting inspirational workshops. She is also well traveled spanning across the United States as well as abroad including England, Italy, China, Thailand, Mexico, and a host of other places. While on her conquest through school, she focused on her students and helped propel them to success. Her passion for education is undeniable and she believes when you bring hard-work and passion together it will produce change. From both growing up and teaching in an urban area, she understands how imperative it is for us to make sure every student receives an excellent education. She does not go the extra-mile because she has to; she does it because she wants to. As an instructor, she has been devoted to ensuring that her students excel no matter their zip code. Whether it was implementing "A Speaker of the Month" program or advising and assisting students as well as parents regarding pre-collegiate preparation such as the ACT/SAT, colleges, summer camps, internships, or being involved in after-school activities, she was there. She has managed and lead school activities. She has had her students in every capacity develop a college notebook which included ACT/SAT scores, scholarship information, FAFSA, and college/university break down information. Her goal is to make sure students are well prepared for their future. She has had the pleasure of touching lives on an Elementary, Secondary and Post-secondary level. She always says to put God first in whatever you do and you will always succeed. Tamira Cole Deemed as one college woman "most likely to succeed at anything," as Glamour Magazine's Top 22 College Women in America in 2005 and USA Today's Honoree, Tamira Cole balances mission and service in building productive teams in achieving purpose and growth with a personal motto of "faith, family, and perseverance." Tamira Cole is an English and STAR Discovery Educator in Houston, TX. She is a Commissioner on the City of Houston's Commission on Disabilities and Chair of the K-12 Disability Related Issues in Public School Committee. The former Major League Baseball, PEOPLE, and Target National Teacher All Star Finalist, American Paper & Twine Tennessee Titans Teacher of the Year Candidate, and Houston Independent School District Campus Teacher of the Year Candidate has taught for six years in three different states and has served as a lead teacher, technology leader, special education coach, instructional leader, regional curriculum leader, academic dean, facilitator, mentor, advisor and sponsor. She has worked for the U.S. Department of Education's Race for the Top District Grant Competition, KIPP: Houston Public Schools, YES Prep, Teach for America, National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, Pearson Inc, and Nashville and Davidson Metropolitan Government, Tennessee Beacon Center for Policy Research, worked and volunteered for more than a dozen non-profits and youth organizations including 4-H and Health Occupations Students of America. An energetic and passionate orator, she has coached teachers, school leaders, and teams in more than a dozen states. The former Miss Black Kentucky USA is a trained lobbyist, past non-profit board of director's president, blogger, and published author who has traveled and served as a missionary in more than 25 countries. She has earned degrees from Austin Peay State University and Northwestern University.
