Der Autor des Werks wurde 1954 in Santa Cruz del Sur, Camagüey, geboren. Er hat einen Abschluss in Journalismus. Er hat 15 Bücher veröffentlicht, von denen 6 in 8 Sprachen übersetzt wurden. Zu den relevantesten gehören: Tiro de Grace, Verlag Ácana 2004; Neuer Radiojournalismus, Live Editorial, 2023 und Hermanas Fáez: Stimmen der Erinnerung.
