This study summarizes the results of 30 years of our experiments with Vicia faba L seeds. Vicia faba seeds were chosen as an optimal model for testing of a storage effect. They were treated both with non-alkylating mutagen (MH) and alkylating mutagen (MMS) and stored at 50 % water content for 0, 14 and 28 days. Evaluation with CAs, SSBs, DSBs and UDS showed this method as a general phenomenon for enhance of the DNA repair capacity. This was confirmed also in the case of the aging of V. faba seeds with an effect of the rejuvenation.
