Since capturing a language requires learning the words of that language, a very important part of learning English is the mastering of its vocabulary. On this matter, though students need to learn it well, most of Moroccan students still have difficulties in English, because their vocabulary knowledge is still limited. Thus, without a good-sized vocabulary breadth and depth, one's means of expressing ideas will be limited too. The fundamental issue this book examines is the difficulties in learning vocabulary among EFL students in Morocco through testing their knowledge of vocabulary and vocabulary use. It tries also to give possible answers to frequent questions about vocabulary size, depth and the relationship between the two. It is considered as a tentative contribution in the field of applied and educational linguistics which may push educator to reconsider the difficulties and challenges that EFL learners may encounter in learning vocabulary. The book might be of interest and use to EFL/ESL teachers, students, teacher trainees and it may also interest general readership.
