The articles in this book examines different aspects of Turkey s rise in the Arab and Muslim world, with some examining it as a potential model for other states in the region and others discussing its impact from a variety of perspectives. All of them, however, are interrelated and have particular themes that transcend the discursive boundaries imposed by the page separating one article from another. Communication, dialogue, engagement, a need for cultural and political understandings, respect for difference of opinion and policies pursuits, and recognition that we are currently living in a changing order that is more globally interconnected than the past, which requires a new type of leadership, are all common themes running throughout the articles.
