Gloria Elena Espinoza Padilla de Tercero è nata a Jinotepe, Nicaragua. Si è laureato con lode in Scienze dell'Educazione, con specializzazione in Scienze Sociali (1976), presso l'Università Nazionale Autonoma del Nicaragua. Membro effettivo dell'Accademia Nicaraguense della Lingua (ANL) e Corrispondente della Reale Accademia Spagnola (RAE).
